Overwhelmed by leftover cranberry sauce? Don’t worry, there are lots of great ways to make use and enjoy it in the weeks to come!
Tip: you can freeze leftovers in small portions using an icecube tray to extend shelf life and have perfect portions for many of these add ins:
Add 2-4 TBS to plain yogurt, great for breakfast or a snack
Stir into oatmeal or other breakfast porridge
Add a bit of blitzed cranberry sauce into your favorite balsamic or red wine vinaigrette.
Spread a thin layer on toast in place of jam. Great following butter or cream cheese. You might want to pulse it in the blender or with an immersion blender first to make it a more fine texture.
Add to your smoothie. Great with yogurt, banana and a pinch of cinnamon.
Muddle with ice then add seltzer, mineral water or club soda to make a festive spritzer.
Make a crostini appetizer by toasting sliced baguette or other small loaf, spread with cream cheese, cashew cheese or other soft cheese. Top with cranberry sauce. Sprinkle with fresh thyme, orange zest and black pepper if you’d like.
Top a turkey burger with some
Add to a holiday left over sandwich or salad (great with roasted chicken, turkey, pork).
Make an excellent glaze for grilled meats. Toward the end of the grilling time, brush the smooth sauce over pork tenderloins, beef, bone-in pork chops, chicken breasts or turkey.
Blend in to your favorite barbecue sauce.
Add to sweet and savory slow cooked ribs.
