Making a nutritious smoothie can be a breeze and smoothies are an excellent way to incorporate leafy greens into your day! This mango kale smoothie, made with just four simple ingredients, is not only quite effortless and very tasty, but it is also a fantastic way to kick off your morning.
If you don't have kale available, spinach makes a great alternative. For a satisfying meal, enjoy an ounce of sprouted almonds alongside your sweet green smoothie. Another option for an extra boost of protein, consider mixing in a spoonful of peanut butter or a scoop of protein powder.
Ingredients:
1 cup packed kale, fresh or frozen, stems removed
2 cups frozen mango chunks
1 medium orange, peeled
1 cup coconut milk or unsweetened almond milk*
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Notes: Whatever milk you choose, find one with the least amount of ingredients (we prefer Native Forest coconut milk and Malk almond milk). We do not recommend cow’s milk for this recipe, as it typically curdles when blended with citrus.
